How to get from Riga (Latvia) to Tartu - Elite Private Clinic

Elite Clinic's private car transfer:

Transfer from Riga airport or some other place you name to your hotel in Tartu or to Elite Clinic costs one direction 300 EUR and 2 directions 600 EUR. From Tartu back to Riga is same price 300 EUR.
In practice - you inform your contact person from Elite Clinic about the date and time you want to meet our driver and that's all.

The distance of Elite Clinic-Riga airport is about 250 km and usually it takes about 3,5 hours to drive (exact time depends very much on the day and time you are coming, Friday evening more traffic and traffic jams daily in the morning and in the evening about 17.00-18.30 in Riga city centre; it may take 1 hour to drive through Riga city). Our experienced driver will be waiting for you inside Riga airport or some other place with a sign with your name and right after meeting the driver in the meeting point you start your journey to Elite Clinic. This is the fastest way.

Only high standard (BMW X5 and Porsche Cayenne S) safe cars are used. Both cars are comfortable and safe.


Public transport – bus:

Price of one direction per person is 12 EUR.

It takes about 20-30 minutes (about 12 km) to drive from Riga airport to Riga bus terminal (exact time depends on the traffic that moment).

From Tartu bus terminal you will need to take a taxi to drive to Elite Clinic. It takes about 15 minutes to drive. Price of taxi is approximately 5-6 EUR. You can take a taxi from bus station. From bus station it takes about 10-15 minutes on foot to reach the city centre and town hall square.


Arrival by your own or rented car:

 

In Latvia as in continental Europe, the traffic drives on the right-hand side of the road.

Latvian law requires an international driver's license and valid insurance policy.

During daylight hours, dipped headlights or daytime driving lights must be switched on. After dark, the main headlights must be switched on.

The driver and the passengers must wear seat-belts at all times.

Speed limits are as follows, unless marked otherwise:

International fuel stations are easy to find. The largest international chains operating in Latvia are Statoil and Neste.
